White hot chocolate recipe
As I sit here sipping this white hot chocolate out on my deck, I can almost imagine this subtropical island covered in snow…
…That the palm tree in my yard is a pine tree, that I’m snuggled up in a cozy sweater warding off a frosty breeze…
In reality, the day is blazing hot and sunny with a measly 90% humidity level blanketing every pore in my body.
And yet, this white hot chocolate warms my heart in ways the climate can’t.
It’s thick and creamy, sweet and vanilla.
I’m a water drinker. Not pop, not juice, not tea.
And it has to be plain water – no flavors please.
Water is my beverage of choice (I make exceptions for alcohol 😂).
But when fall rolls around, I love homemade drinks. A festive punch, homemade pumpkin eggnog, an iced glass of coquito or warm caramel milk.
How to make white hot chocolate
I recommending using a pure bar or chunk of white chocolate.
Chop it finely into small slivers so it melts easily.
You can use white chocolate chips if that’s all you have, but they don’t melt as well in my experience.
This recipe has regular milk for the base and also sweetened condensed milk, which thickens and sweetens it.
Warm the milks together, taking care not to scorch, then add the chopped chocolate.
Let it set for a minute and it will be ready to whisk until smooth.
Finish it off with a splash of vanilla and don’t forget the whipped cream!
You can also add marshmallows, chocolate shavings or chocolate chips as toppings.
This hot chocolate tastes incredible in a cozy mug, but I absolutely love it as creamer in my coffee as well. It’s the best white chocolate mocha ever!
If peppermint white chocolate is your jam, add a couple drops of peppermint essential oil and enjoy!
pin this for later!

This looks so delicious! It's a bit cold in New Orleans so I might just have to make a quick coconut milk version to sip on! Thanks for sharing. :)
