Pumpkin Brownie Trifle

You all know how much I love trifles by now. There are several reasons why I think trifle is such a great dessert, first and foremost because they look amazing.

During the holidays, I like to take my cooking to the next level because it makes things more special and festive.

Next-level presentation doesn’t have to be difficult though!

The other reason I like making trifles is because they are so easy.

Simply layer your ingredients and you have a magnificent dessert that’s almost effortless.

You can use a trifle bowl or any clear bowl.

The final reason I love trifles is because their flavors are endless and easy to customize.

In the summer (or when I need relief from the winter blues) I love to make Lemon Blueberry Trifle.

It is so refreshing and delicious! For Christmas, my favorite holiday flavors get center stage in a Chocolate Peppermint Trifle.

For the fall season, I’ve combined my love of pumpkin and chocolate in this pumpkin brownie trifle.

It’s like chocolate chip pumpkin bread only bigger and better!

Speaking of easy, except for the brownies, this trifle is almost no-bake which is handy when there are so many other dishes vying for the oven.

Your grocery’s bakery may sell ready-made brownies to make it even easier, or you can use a box mix like I did, or whip up a batch from scratch!

I recommend using 2 boxes of mix, even if the box says it’s for a 13×9 pan. Bake them in two 8×8 pans or both in one 13×9 pan.

The filling is equally easy using boxed pudding and whipped topping (or homemade whipped cream).

If using homemade whipped cream, you’ll need to start with 8 ounces of heavy cream and sweeten to taste.

I saved about 1/3 of the whipped cream to garnish the top of my trifle.

You could also decorate with chocolate chips, unwrapped kisses or pumpkin shaped candies. Have fun with it!

When people see this pumpkin brownie trifle, I guarantee there will be exclamations throughout the room.

It’s a beautiful table centerpiece for Thanksgiving and a definite showstopper!
