Orange Carrot Smoothie

We love smoothies around here. It’s one of our not-so-secret healthy tricks to substitute one meal a day with a nourishing smoothie.

Especially when I’m cooking up Oatmeal Cookies and Snickerdoodles all the time! 😀

We usually stick with green smoothies since it’s easy to add a few handfuls of spinach to any flavored smoothie without changing the taste (Tropical Green Smoothie is a favorite).

But recently I’ve started experimenting with other vegetables. So today, instead of a green smoothie, I bring you an orange smoothie!

Carrots are the star of this show. Sweetened with orange juice and pineapple, which complements carrots perfectly, it has a great citrus zip.

We always add plain Greek yogurt and oats to our breakfast smoothies.

The added protein and fiber makes them filling enough to keep you feeling full and energized until your next meal.

Of course, the beauty of smoothies is that they are easy to customize to various tastes and diets.

Need it dairy free? Leave out the yogurt.

Don’t have pineapple on hand? Substitute mango or another fruit in the orange colored family.

Personally, I always like to stir chia seeds into my cup after blending.

If you’re feeling especially healthy, you can add some greens to this smoothie and get double your veggies in one smoothie!

This is my all time favorite breakfast smoothie. I use oranges instead of orange juice. I don’t like any type of yogurt so I substitute a little almond or cashew milk. I also throw in vanilla protein powder, and it’s now a full meal.

This smoothie was quite delicious! I went looking for carrot smoothie recipes last night because I bought an enormous bag of carrots. This did not disappoint. I did add peach yogurt instead of greek because I had that on hand and then added a little almond coconut milk and ice. It was like a juicy orange exploding in my mouth!!! Thank you.

Quick oats will work! And you can absolutely consume them raw. You get the full nutritional value that way. :-) Other favorites include overnight oats and no-bake oatmeal cookies!

This smoothie looks awesome! I have two questions. Can I use 1min oats & can I use canned pineapple chunks without the juice? Thank you in advance. ~~ Adel ~~

Thank you! Canned pineapple should be fine. You might need to reduce the liquid since they are extra juicy, but it just depends how thick you like your smoothies. 1 minute oats will also work - any type will except steel cut oats. Enjoy!
